Momentum is really starting to build behind the Sun Pier House project. The latest news from this week is as follows:

  • A new artist, Lusea Campbell, has signed for Studio 1, joining Wendy Smith and Louise Nevett as the first creatives to move in to the space. Lusea specialises in glass creations and brings a new medium to Sun Pier House, which is great to see.

  • Some of Medway Council’s top brass from the regeneration team visited the site on Tuesday 12th February. They wanted to see how our project would fit into the grander scheme of the ‘cultural quarter’ development and appeared to be extremely impressed with the proposals.

  • Planning permission has been submitted and we now have to wait 8 weeks until the go ahead can be given to undertake the planned works, including installation of the lift and fitting out of the creative office space. It will then be another 8 weeks for these works to be completed, bringing the project ‘online’ in July/August 2013.

Further updates will be posted as the project continues to develop!
