THE ANCHOR
NEW for 2025 – Introducing THE ANCHOR!
Sun Pier House has always been a bit in between – not quite a pub, but more than just a café. That’s why we love being part of Intra (which literally means “between”)! So, it made perfect sense for us to create a space for teens who are also in that in between stage – too old for traditional youth clubs, but not quite ready for the pub. Medway Youth agreed, and The Anchor was born!
The Anchor is your after-class social club where you can stop by for a drink, get creative, learn something new, or just chill with friends.
Run by experienced and supportive staff, it’s a welcoming space where you can be yourself, feel included, and have fun.
Come check it out—we can’t wait to see you!

FAQ’s (frequently asked questions)
What is there to do at The Anchor?
The Anchor is designed to be whatever you need it to be. There are always card games like uno or craft / creative activities out, but you could just find a quiet spot and crack on with homework or listen to music or just chat with friends. As the group broadens we can do more! Once a term we will aim to put on a specific workshop or activity but other than that its what you make of it.
Do you have to book?
Nope – just drop in after class between 3.30pm – 5.30pm.
What age is it for?
We have aimed this social at 15 – 18 year olds, we won’t ever ID anyone or turn them away, but we want to keep it special for older teens who don’t find traditional youth clubs suit them.
Do you have to pay to attend?
No! The Anchor is FREE to attend including all the activities. The bar is open for soft drinks and snacks but we don’t mind if you bring food (or a maccys) with you.
