A Celebration of Local Islamic Culture and Art – 9th -26th November

This exhibition was held as part of the Ageless Art Project, delivered by Medway Plus and funded by the Test Bed Fund, administered by Medway Voluntary Action (MVA).

The project was about befriending and encouraging different communities to engage on everyday issues, including Culture & Art.

Medway Plus and the Kent Muslim Welfare Association have collaborated on the exhibition which invites exhibits from all ages to celebrate culture and art from the Muslim community in Medway.

Medway Plus’ main aim was to develop the capacity and skills of the members of the socially and economically disadvantaged community of Medway in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate more fully in society.

The Kent Muslim Welfare Association was set up in the 1970’s by Muslims living in Kent. Since that time, it has become a source of support and knowledge to its diverse Muslin community, as well as an enriching initiative to help serve the wider community and strengthen cohesion.
