Oh, we do love an arts market at Sun Pier House. Not in a fancy way. In a real way.
We know that arts markets brings people together. They create space for artists, makers, and independent sellers and they make room for creativity that doesn’t always get a spotlight. It puts local culture front and centre. Right here in Chatham.
Arts markets aren’t just about shopping. It’s about access to culture. It’s about giving local artists a platform. It’s about creating something positive in a town that often gets overlooked. Chatham might not be shiny or polished. But it is full of creative people. Full of ideas. Full of talent. We want to showcase that.
We have over 2,000 square feet of indoor market space. Our ground floor Creation Space sits at the heart of it all, it is practical, flexible and open. When the weather allows, the bifold doors open wide and bring fresh air into the space. Here, the market spills outward and people flow in and out with ease.
Our Café and Gallery stay open alongside the market. You can grab a takeaway coffee. Take a slow walk around the stalls. Step into the gallery. Then come back for lunch or a slice of cake. Sit down. Take your time. Make a day of it.

ART FLEA FAIR
Every season, we host our own Art Flea Fair market. We focus on art, craft, handmade work, and vintage finds. You will find bold prints, affordable ceramics, hand-painted pieces, upcycled clothing, unique jewellery, zines, textiles, and small-batch creations. Nothing feels mass-produced. Everything feels made with intention.
The best bit? You can meet the people behind the stalls. You can talk to them directly, how they work, what inspires them, where they learned their craft. Most of our stallholders come from Medway and they reflect the creativity that already exists here, even when it doesn’t always get seen.

BROKEN HEART BAZAAR
Twice a year, we welcome Medway’s original alternative market Broken Heart Bazaar raising funds for the British Heart Foundation. It brings something different to Chatham. Expect one-of-a-kind curios, gothic designs, and pagan wares. Expect bold aesthetics. Expect subculture. Expect things you won’t find on the high street.
Not just any alternative market, this one has real heart. They run in aid of the British Heart Foundation and so far these events have raised more than £6000 for this incredible charity.
With more than 40 incredibly talented makers bringing you their best works you are bound to leave with a haul of the best alternative goodies money can buy.
