The Joseph Webb A.R.E 1908-1962 – From Pastoral Tradition to Mystical Vision Exhibition
4th – 25th June 2022
Joseph Webb was a printmaker, muralist and teacher of etching and sculpture best known for his early 20th century etchings.
The Webb collection came into Beryl Gascoigne’s possession in the 1970’s and since 1985 her daughter and printmaker Jane Furst has been its curator.
This exhibition celebrated the life and works of Webb as well as his connections to the family. Webb’s etchings are found in major museum collections worldwide, including the British Museum, the V&A and museums in the USA.
The exhibition was accompanied by a range of talks and events with artist and curator Jane Furst.
