MESS ROOM – Connects Celebration

We’re beyond excited to launch our first exhibition of 2025 and our first in the new Creation Space!

Long- term Sun Pier House residents, MESS ROOM are celebrating the end of their fantastic 12-month project MESS ROOM Connects – supported by National Lottery Project Grant funding from Arts Council England with a new Exhibition!

Zen Go Yin

Date: Monday, 24th March 2025

Time: 9.30am – 10.15am

Location: Community Hire Space, 1st Floor

Zen Go with the Flow yoga class is a 45 minute long yoga class where you can join with little ones, either on the mat with you or if they’re a little bigger, in the middle with their toys. It will be a hybrid yoga class, combining strengthening vinyasa moves, with calming breathing focus and yin stretching.

Zen Go Yin Yoga class is an hour long adult only yin yoga class involving a deeply meditative and restorative practice designed to enhance flexibility, release tension, and promote inner calm. By holding gentle poses for extended periods, you’ll target the deeper connective tissues, fostering greater mobility and a profound sense of relaxation. Perfect for all levels and ages.

11:45 Zen Go FIIT yoga class is a half hour long HIIT class, combing a fluid yoga warm up, Yoga/HIIT drills and stretches that will leave you strong, toned, stretched and invigorated.

The Anchor is an after-school/college social club where 15 -18 year olds can stop by for a drink, get creative, learn something new, or just chill with friends.

Run by experienced and supportive staff from Medway Youth, it’s a welcoming space where everyone can be themselves, feel included, and have fun.

Remake, Repair, Create

 

Date: Saturday, 29th March 2025

Time: 11:00am – 2:00pm

Location: Creation Space, Ground Floor

Remake, Repair and Create is a morning session suitable for 10+ (though there will be scissors and needles – so your young people should be accompanied at all times.) This is a drop-in workshop – stay for 30 mins or all morning! – but in order to make sure we have the right amount of materials, we’d be grateful if you could book.

♻️ We’ll be upcycling clothes and mending any items you might have thought about chucking out.

♻️ We’ll be decorating hats in a steampunk style.

♻️ We’ll be making notepads/sketchbooks from household trash and recycled materials.

♻️ Plus book swap and other activities tbc.

Ever wondered about the stories behind those random shopping lists left in trolleys and baskets? Kieran is turning them into an hour of hilarious storytelling at Sun Pier House.

CREATIVE WORKSHOP

Electric Medway – Young Hack

 

Date: 10th April – 11th April 2025

Time: 10:00am – 4:00pm

Location: Creation Space, Ground Floor

​Use creative technology to uncover the entertainment history of the Old High Street Intra!

​Join Electric Medway in February and April 2025, for a special series of Young Hack digital camps for 16-18yr olds.

​Get to interview local cultural figures and uncover their living memories of the area. Use iPad voice recorders and 3D scanning apps, whilst analysing digitised photo, VHS and archive newspaper records. What new stories will you uncover?

​There will be chance to also dabble in animation, VR and augmented reality as ways to retell these stories.
