EXHIBITION
Call the Ships to Port – Exhibition
Date: Tuesday 5th August
Time: 10am – 4pm
Location: MedwayArtBox, Rochester High Street
Over a number of weeks, visitors to our gallery made origami boats, that have formed our cascade of ships called back to port, in the heart of Rochester!
We have also been capturing locals’ memories of the Medway, some of which are displayed in the window panels of the MedwayArtBox.

BIG DRAW little people – Exhibition
Date: Tuesday 5th August
Time: 10am – 4pm
Location: The Riverside Gallery, 2nd Floor
The Big River Draw will link up 300 Steps to the River and BIG DRAW Little People creating a wonderful celebration of the River Medway.
Alongside our giant River Medway Mosaic we will fill our blank walls with children’s drawings and build an exciting exhibition!
WORKSHOP
BIG DRAW little people – Riverscapes
Date: Tuesday 5th August
Time: 10am & 1.30pm
Location: The Riverside Gallery, 2nd Floor
Join Libbie in the Riverside Gallery learning how to draw a Riverscape! Go underwater or stay above, think abut perspectives, how to add layers to your drawings and add details to the shore line.
This activity will all suitable for all artistic abilities, for ages 3 to 12 years old and all materials will be provided. Please book tickets for all those that want to join in.
WORKSHOP
Nautical Stitching – 300 Steps to the River
Date: Thursday, 7th August 2025
Time: 7pm – 9pm
Location: Café, 2nd Floor
Join Sarah from Miss Ava’s Millinery for a relaxed and creative two-hour workshop, where you’ll craft your own nautical-inspired brooch or hair clip. Your £5 ticket includes a free* drink on arrival.

BIG DRAW little people – Ship in a Bottle Workshop
Date: Tuesday 12th August
Time: 10am & 1.30pm
Location: The Riverside Gallery, 2nd Floor
Join Libbie in the Riverside Gallery for a family art workshop, drawing your own ‘ship in a bottle’ on acetate sheets to create a fun window display. Be inspired by our riverside views and make your mark in our large drawing exhibition of original children’s artwork.

Join us for this FREE LEGO build workshop. Learn about the amazing architecture of No.3 Covered Slip and the UK’s largest collection of RNLI historic lifeboats, displayed in No. 4 Slip.

Sun Pier Sounds is back! Join us for laid-back live music from local musicians. Relax on a Thursday evening as we introduce you to three local artists playing stripped back, indie rock/pop, singer/songwriter and folk music. Doors open at 7pm with the first act at 7.30pm.
