​Use creative technology to uncover the entertainment history of the Old High Street Intra!

​Join Electric Medway in February and April 2025, for a special series of Young Hack digital camps for 11-16yr olds.

​Get to interview local cultural figures and uncover their living memories of the area. Use iPad voice recorders and 3D scanning apps, whilst analysing digitised photo, VHS and archive newspaper records. What new stories will you uncover?

​There will be chance to also dabble in animation, VR and augmented reality as ways to retell these stories.

John McCullough

Join John McCullough, award-winning poet for an afternoon of poetry that will bang words together like stones and see what sparks.

John will be supported by local poet Bethany Goodwill.

Bethany Goodwill is a Medway-based poet, and one half of the Rochester poetry night Big Trouble. They are a regular in the Kent poetry scene since. They write about death and being in people’s cars.

Remake, Repair, Create

Remake, Repair and Create is a morning session suitable for 10+ (though there will be scissors and needles – so your young people should be accompanied at all times.) This is a drop-in workshop – stay for 30 mins or all morning! – but in order to make sure we have the right amount of materials, we’d be grateful if you could book.

♻️ We’ll be upcycling clothes and mending any items you might have thought about chucking out.

♻️ We’ll be decorating hats in a steampunk style.

♻️ We’ll be making notepads/sketchbooks from household trash and recycled materials.

♻️ Plus book swap and other activities tbc.
